NEWS

Our Church Reaching Out In Mission
United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is often one of the first organizations to respond to tragedies such as hurricanes, earthquakes, and even terrorist attacks. Periodically, we take a special offering to provide UMCOR with reserve funds to respond to the next crisis. We also receive offerings in the midst of crisis to respond in specific ways. 100% of what we send is used for the intended purposes.

AID FOR FRIENDS
We continue to make meals for the isolated and home bound through the AFF organization. Everything you need to make your frozen meal at home is located in a plastic bag in the narthex. Simply fill each area of the try, wrap it in aluminum foil, place it in the plastic bag, freeze it, bring it to the church kitchen, and place it in our freezer.

If you aren’t much of a cook, but still want to help folks, consider our outreach through the King’s Kitchen. The King’s Kitchen is a hot meal and grocery ministry through the Holmesburg United Methodist Church. We collect canned and packaged foods each Sunday, and deliver them to King’s Kitchen for their use and distribution. There has been a huge expansion of food needs for some people in our community, so our donations are greatly appreciated. Cereal is a #1 grocery need at this time.

The Northeast Churches Community Food Cupboard at St. John's would like to thank you for your continuing donations to the Food Cupboard. However, during the summer months, contributions of food are at their lowest, and there is an ever increasing need.  Please leave any donations in the narthex.

The Leadership Team wants to thank Cris Everly for volunteering in the office as the secretary.  However, Cris is unable to continue to volunteer three days a week; and with the arrival of Pastor Choi, The office is in need of volunteer help.  If you are interested in working as a volunteer, please contact the office.

Summer Camp Brochures for our United Methodist camps are available in the church office.  If your child has a camping experience, you should consider one of our camps. It is a time of fellowship, fun and making new friends! Vouches are available.
